Blood Sugar Rising

Wednesday, April 15, at 9 p.m.
Repeats Thursday, April 16, at 2 a.m.

Diabetes is a hidden epidemic in America, with a frighteningly rapid rise in the last generation alone.

Learn of the revolutionary changes that have occurred in diabetes care over the last 50 years. Also, new devices and medications plus life-saving surgeries suggest there is hope for a future where diabetes management does not require all-consuming monitoring, day and night, seven days a week.

Looking behind the statistics, this new two-hour documentary special explores the lives of people with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in communities across America and showcases the caretakers, physicians and scientists who are working to improve diabetes management and prevention, creating new hope for the future.
