Heather Smith

Heather Smith
Coordinator
330-677-4549 ext. 125

Heather Smith is a coordinator in the Department of Educational Services at Western Reserve Public Media in Kent, where she researches and develops educational courses for educators, administrators and technology leaders. Her topics of study include invention literacy, media literacy and coaching. (Not athletic coaching; otherwise, she’d be pursuing a career with the Browns and perhaps leading them to the Super Bowl!) She is also a BIG dreamer. As an example, Heather started a group called NETILO (Technology Integration Leaders in NE Ohio) in the hopes of building a group of tech leaders who can enhance teaching and learning all over Northeast Ohio.

Heather has been in the field of education since 2006. She holds an early childhood education degree from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in instructional technology from the University of Akron. She has previously worked as a computer teacher and a technology integration coach.
