Writing a Cover Letter

A cover letter usually is mailed with each résumé that you send out. The letter should not duplicate your résumé but should help complete the story that you’re try to convey to the prospective employer. It is often the first contact that the employer has and offers that critical
first impression.

There are basically three types of cover letters. An application letter is sent when you know that there is a job opening.
