Observatory Park—Geauga Park District

4th of July Concert—Akron Symphony
Tuesday, July 4, at 8 p.m. Lock 3, 200 S. Main St., Akron. First Friday: Crafty Mart Canton—Canton Museum of Art

81st National Midyear Exhibition—The Butler Institute of American Art
Opening reception: Sunday, July 9, from 1-3 p.m. 524 Wick Ave., Youngstown. This exhibition presents works by contemporary artists who reside within the 50 United States or its possessions. Two-dimensional works in all media, including digital works and photography, are included in this collection, which includes 83 works of art by 77 artists. The Little Mermaid—Renaissance Performing Arts

Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages.
