Auditor

A tax preparer prepares tax returns, often income tax returns, often for a person other than the taxpayer, and generally receives compensation. Tax preparation may be done by the taxpayer with or without the help of tax preparation software and online services.

An insurance provider works with policies in which an individual or entity receives financial protection or reimbursement against losses from an insurance company. The company pools clients' risks to make payments more affordable for the entity insured.

Both of these tasks are handled by accountants and auditors.

About the Video

Tony Constantine is a Senior Manager at Ciuni & Panichi. He supervises a group of accountants on the tax side of the company. His job is to take the books after the auditors have worked with them and make changes to make them compliant with the tax laws. He than prepares the tax returns.

The computer is the tool most often used. The tax service reviews documents and builds spreadsheets to do analysis. Sometimes it is necessary to appear in court to represent the findings.

Tony focuses on real estate and construction. He said the most challenging parts of his job is balancing multiple projects at once. A manager has to manage people, manage projects, manage clients–sometimes as many as ten at one time.

Math is extremely important in this field, but it is important to also take on leadership positions, outside activities and to learn from an early age how to balance multiple priorities and multiple activities.
